I managed to give myself some garage time tonight, and it was very productive! The actual dashboard was cut and made very quickly, then some smoothing off, drilling and finally covering.
The drivers eye view is exactly as I had planned. The hazard and start button labels are a trial and although presently are too large they’ve proven the concept.
